The Internet Programming Contest
is for students of computer science/engineering Departments in Greece and Cyprus has been proposed by the Special Interest Group on Education and Industry of the Greek Computer Society (EPY)

The 1st contest which took place in 30 November 1996, was hosted by the Department of Informatics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.


The participants were 24 3-member teams representing the following Departments:

Department of Informatics of the University of Athens,
Department of Informatics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki,
Department of Informatics of the University of Pireus,
Department of Informatics of the University of Cyprus,
Department of Applied Informatics of the Economics University of Athens,
Department of Applied Informatics of the University of Macedonia (Thessaloniki)
Department of Electronics and Computer Engineering of the Technical University of Crete,
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki,
Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens.
Department of Informatics of the Technology Institution of Athens,
Department of Informatics of the Technology Institution of Thessaloniki,
Department of Informatics of the Higher Institute of Technology of Cyprus.



Participating teams had to solve 3 problems is 5 hours: Problem 1 Problem 2 Problem 3


The teams were ranked according to the number of problems solved.

  1. 1st position (3 problems solved):
  2. 2nd position (2 problems solved):
  3. 3 position (1 problem solved) :

The celebrating ceremony will take place in Athens and awards will be given to the winning teams. The organizer of the second contest will be announced soon.
