I am researcher with the Data Engineering Laboratory (delab), at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. I hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science, obtained at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with a thesis focused on Spatio-temporal models predictability of preference dynamics over heterogeneous and multidimensional big data.
My research lies at the intersection of machine learning, spatio-temporal modeling, and web information retrieval. I study and build novel Social Data science methods and tools. My goal is to further improve the way we understand the evolution of users' daily behavior on web. To succeed this goal I deal with big data analysis over Location Based Social Networks using machine learning algorithms and models over heterogeneous and multidimensional data.
I published in peer-reviewed international journals (IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering (TKDE), World Wide Web Journal (WWW), Expert Systems with Applications (ESWA)) and conferences (MEDI, SMAP, MEDES, AC).
My work is driven by research and business needs, and finds natural applications and valorization in a variety of contexts such as Online Social Networks, Location Based Social Networks, etc.
