26th International Conference on Advanced Information Systems Engineering

16-20 June 2014, Thessaloniki, Greece

ASDENCA 2014 - International Workshop on Advances in Services DEsign based on the Notion of CApabiliy

Scope

The notion of capability is gaining much presence within the field of Information Systems Engineering. Historically, it has been examined in Economics, Sociology, and Management Science. More recently, it has been considered in the context of business-IT alignment, in the specification and design of services using business planning as the baseline, in Enterprise Architecture, and in Service Oriented Architecture.

We encourage the original research contributions exploring the challenges and solutions related to the meaning and usage of capability in Information Systems Engineering, as well as industrial case studies illustrating the use of this notion.

Submissions

The topics are among but not limited to:

  • Capability modelling
  • Evolving capabilities and capability-driven reengineering
  • Transferring capability knowledge from other domains to IS engineering
  • Capability elicitation, analysis and validation
  • Capability and business process
  • Capability and services
  • Evidence-based research in capability and capability-driven development
  • Organizational context and capability
  • Information system-enabled capability
  • Capability mining
  • Capability-driven information system testing
  • Case studies in capability use
  • Experiences in capability modeling and engineering
  • Capability management approaches

Submissions

All submissions must be unpublished and not be under review elsewhere. Submissions must conform to Springer's LNBIP format (http://www.springer.com/series/7911). The page limit for submitted papers is 12 pages. Papers have to be submitted in PDF format using the EasyChair submission page (https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=asdenca2014).

Accepted papers will be published in the CAiSE 2014 Workshop Proceedings, in Springer Lecture Notes in Business Information Processing (LNBIP, indexed in ISI Proceedings, DBLP, EI and Scopus). At least one author of an accepted paper should register for the conference and present the paper.

Authors of the best 3 papers will be invited to submit an extended version for consideration by the Requirements Engineering Journal (REJ).
