26th International Conference on Advanced Information Systems Engineering

16-20 June 2014, Thessaloniki, Greece

NGEBIS 2014 - New Generation Enterprise And Business Innovation Systems

Scope

Innovation is one of the key enablers for European enterprises to compete in global markets, especially in difficult economic periods.

An innovation process is different from a ‘usual’ business process we find in an enterprise that is normally well defined in its plans, activities, committed resources, etc. Innovation needs a creative behaviour to address ‘wicked problems’, i.e., problems difficult to solve because of incomplete, fuzzy, changing requirements.

The NGEBIS workshop intends to address the area of Innovation Management Systems that have that operate in a fuzzy and ill-defined problem space to be systematically tackled by using existing information systems and information engineering methods. NGEBIS 2014 intends to contribute to the development of methods to be used in the implementation of a new generation of information systems dedicated to business innovation, with particular attention to networked enterprises.

Format

The NGEBIS’14 Workshop will feature the following sections:

Presentation oriented section, with peer reviewed scientific papers, to be included in the official CAiSE Workshops proceedings (Published in one volume in the Springer LNBIP series)

Demo and Poster section, with (a) demos of new tools and systems, (b) posters. The D&P papers will be published as CEUR-WS e-Proceedings.

Knowledge Panel, that will freely discuss the 3 most hot topics that will emerge during a 2 months Online Forum. The outcome of the discussion will be published in the CEUR-WS e-Proceedings.

Online Workshop Forum, for online discussion that starts 2  months before the workshop, aiming at debating about the 3 hottest issue among NGEBIS topics that will be selected for the Knowledge Panel to be held on site.

Submissions

All submissions must be formatted according to Springer Verlag LNCS style and uploaded using Easychair

The best workshop papers will be considered for publication in a special issue of the International Journal of Information System Modeling and Design.

Scientific papers

Scientific papers will be published in the official CAiSE Workshops proceedings (Springer LNBIP series). The submission must not exceed 12 pages, but the Program Committee may decide that a regular paper will be accepted as a short paper (6 pages maximum) rather than a regular paper.  Authors would be informed in such a case.
